Our Mission

Promotion of Chinese Martial Arts

The Martial Arts Academy prides itself in offering top quality Martial Arts classes for the whole community in the largest Martial Arts facilities in the DunLaoghaire/Rathdown area of Dublin. Coming from humble beginning our club has its roots in the Wei Chi Kung Fu club which was established in October 1987. From renting local community Halls and school facilities we have earned a great reputation throughout the years introducing generation after generation to the Chinese Martial Arts.

In 1996 the Wei Chi Kung Fu Club joined YMAA International, under the tutelage of world renowned Master, Dr. Yang, Jwing Ming. Our goals are now even more focused, in that we have both an internal martial art and an external Martial arts syllabus to follow and bring to all of our students.

The three primary styles of Martial Arts trained at The Martial Arts Academy are; Shaolin Longfist Kung Fu (Chang Chuan), Whitecrane Kung Fu (Bai He Chuan) and Tai Chi Chuan (Grand Ultimate Fist). Each one of these covers the three main fighting categories of Striking, Wrestling and locking. With each style having its own techniques and strategy training, as part of the YMAA community this allows us to take these skills and promote the Chinese Martial Arts and also challenge ourselves in the competitive arena in the Chinese Sport of Sanshou (Chinese Kickboxing).

Our Mission is to excel in the Chinese Arts and on the mat in local, National and International competitions. Our Academy offers a positive and healthy environment for the development of our students allowing them to reach their full potential and achieving their goals.

Whatever their aims, be it to reach deep levels of the martial arts, wins championships, lose a few pounds and be generally healthier and happier we run classes conducive to their needs.
