Yang's Martial Arts Association was established in Boston, Massachusetts in 1982 with the purpose of preserving traditional Chinese Kung Fu and ancient Qigong training. YMAA Founder and President Dr. Yang Jwing-Ming began training students in the arts of Shaolin Long Fist and White Crane Kung Fu as well as Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan. Dr. Yang is notably recognised for his high skill level in the grappling art of Chin Na, he has also dedicated himself to the teaching and researching of Chinese Qigong. A well know historian and a doctor of Mechanical Engineering he has applied his knowledge of science, history and the martial arts to introduce Kung Fu and Qigong to the Western Society through many books and videotapes. As well as running two series of seminars twice yearly at YMAA HQ in Boston, Dr. Yang also travels twice a year to more than fourteen different countries to share his knowledge, he has also presided over an annual International Summer camp each year since 2000. Yang's Martial Arts Association currently has over 50 schools in eighteen countries, all committed to the practice and teaching of Chinese Kung Fu training under the guidance of Dr. Yang.
