Tenth Period Qualification Contents
All items listed with an * must be passed before the student may enter the next period.

1. *Si Lu Ben Zha (Long Fist Barehand).
Si Lu Ben Zha ( Four Ways of Running and Smashing) originated with the Cha family. It is considered to be an advanced sequence and is the last traditional Long Fist sequence taught in YMAA. This sequence is long and very hard to train. Training this sequence patiently and consistently will lead a student to the highest level of Long Fist techniques.

2. *Ba Mei Shou (White Crane Barehand).
Ba Mei Shou (The Hand of Eight Plums) is a combination of three White Crane sequences: Da Yao (Large Shaking), Ti Gua (Kicking Trigram), and Ba Mei Shou. Da Yao and Ti Gua are middle level White Crane barehand sequences, while Ba Mei is an advanced one. This sequence leads the student to a deeper understanding of the White Crane style.

3. *Qi Men Jian (Long Fist Sword).
Men Jian means "Qi Family's Sword," and was created during the Ming dynasty by General Qi, who was very famous for his spear and sword techniques.

4. *Er Lu Qiang (Long Fist Spear).
The Er Lu Qiang (Second Way Spear) sequence originated with the Yang family during the Song dynasty. The Yang family was famous for their ability with the spear, and had thirteen spear sequences. It is said that this sequence is the second of the thirteen. The spear is considered the king of the long weapons.

  5. *Dan Dao Dui Qiang (Long Fist Spear Against Saber).
Dan Dao Dui Qiang means "Saber Against Spear." This matching set is a traditional spear versus saber sequence. It gives the student an example of how a short weapon defends against a long weapon.
